When the company was founded, its primary products were hibachi—traditional Japanese charcoal braziers used to heat homes. Paulownia wood was the ideal material for these braziers because it is exceptionally lightweight, making them easy to carry, while its excellent insulating properties keep heat inside and the exterior relatively cool to the touch. The wood is also naturally fire-resistant due to its high ignition point and low oil content, making it both practical and durable for everyday use.

The beautifully charred surface of burnt paulownia, known as yakigiri, has a distinctive elegance and a gentle warmth that can be felt to the touch. Combining beauty with practicality, paulownia has long been cherished in Japanese daily life.
