Today, we spent the day maintaining our machiya.
No matter how carefully we care for it, small scratches on the floor inevitably appear. To make the work easy for everyone—including our staff’s children—we repaired them one by one using special crayons.
Over the past year, this machiya has welcomed many guests and quietly shared time with them. With gratitude, and the hope of “let’s do our best together again next year,” we tended to it with our own hands.
Taking time to care for this place ourselves is, once again, a truly meaningful moment.

This year, we were fortunate to welcome many guests from around the world and share with them the cultural experiences we offer. Surrounded by such kind and thoughtful guests, our staff was able to spend many truly wonderful moments together. We are deeply grateful — it means more to us than words can say.

To everyone who supported Kohaku Co., Ltd. throughout this past year, thank you sincerely. In the year ahead, our entire team will continue striving to give our very best, with heartfelt care in all that we do.
May 2026 be a wonderful year for you all. Wishing you a happy and peaceful New Year.

久しぶりにまとまった雪が降り続いた、2025年最後の営業日。 今日は町家のメンテナンスを行いました。
どれだけ大切に使っていても、少しずつ増えていく床の傷。 スタッフの子どもたちも一緒に作業しやすいよう、専用のクレヨンで一つひとつ補修しました。
この1年、たくさんのゲストを迎え、共に時を重ねてきた町家。 感謝の気持ちと、「来年もまた一緒に頑張ろうね」という想いを込めて。
自分たちの手で町家に向き合い、大切に整えるこの時間も、やはり特別なものです。

今年も様々な国から多くの方にお越しいただき、私たちが提供する文化体験を楽しんでいただくことができました。 いつも心優しいゲストの皆さまに恵まれ、スタッフ一同、たくさんの素晴らしい時間をご一緒できたことに、心から感謝しています。本当にありがたいことです。
この1年、株式会社こはくに関わってくださった全ての皆さま、大変お世話になり誠にありがとうございました。 来る年も、スタッフ一同、心を込めて日々切磋琢磨してまいります。

なお株式会社こはくは、12月27日（土）〜1月8日（木）まで年末年始休業とさせて頂き、新年９日（金）より通常営業を開始いたします。

Even for us Japanese, it is a beauty that takes our breath away. The dance of a Geigi has the power to make us forget the everyday, drawing us deeply into the moment.
Kanazawa may not be a large city, yet it is home to three historic teahouse districts: Higashi, Nishi, and Kazue-machi. Here, around 40 Geigi continue to preserve the spirit of hospitality passed down since the feudal era.
Song, dance, drums, and traditional parlor games— each performance unfolding right before your eyes is nothing short of mesmerizing.
In Kanazawa, Geisha are traditionally called Geigi, reflecting the city’s unique cultural heritage.
Spend a truly special evening in the private setting of a 100-year-old traditional townhouse, where time fades away and you can fully immerse yourself in the experience.

日本人の私たちでさえ、思わず息を呑むほどの美しさ。 芸妓さんの舞いには、日常のすべてを忘れさせ、強く心を惹きつける力があります。
金沢は決して大きな街ではありませんが、 「ひがし」「にし」「主計町（かずえまち）」 三つの茶屋街を有し、藩政期より受け継がれてきたおもてなしの文化を、約40名の芸妓さんが今も大切に守り続けています。
唄、舞、太鼓、そしてお座敷遊び。 目の前で繰り広げられる一つひとつの所作は、まさに圧巻。
築100年の町家というプライベートな空間で、 時を忘れ、心ゆくまで没入する特別な夜を。

The other day, we welcomed guests from France who enjoyed a private Japanese confectionery-making experience on the second floor of IN KANAZAWA HOUSE.

We were honored to host a skilled wagashi artisan from Shibafune Koide, a long-established confectionery founded in 1917. After listening to stories about the history of wagashi and their seasonal beauty, the guests created two pieces of refined nerikiri wagashi together under the artisan’s careful and attentive guidance🌸

To conclude the experience, the artisan crafted four beautifully designed wagashi right before their eyes, showcasing a variety of traditional tools and delicate techniques. The guests watched with great interest, fascinated by the precision and artistry involved.

In a private space where time seems to flow gently, guests can enjoy relaxed conversation with the artisan while immersing themselves in the refined world of wagashi. The two wagashi made during the experience may be taken home; however, as these guests also participated in a temari sushi–making experience afterward, they enjoyed one wagashi of their choice with a bowl of matcha as a dessert following their meal🍵

先日、フランスからお越しのお客様が、IN KANAZAWA HOUSE 2階にて和菓子作り体験を楽しまれました。
講師としてお迎えしたのは、大正六年創業の老舗和菓子店「柴舟小出」の和菓子職人。和菓子の歴史や季節ごとの意匠にまつわるお話を伺った後、職人の丁寧で親切な指導のもと、上生菓子を2点一緒に作製していただきました🌸

体験の締めくくりには、職人自らが趣向を凝らした4種の上生菓子を目の前で制作。さまざまな道具や繊細な技法を駆使した実演に、ゲストの皆さまも熱心に見入っていらっしゃいました。
緩やかな時間が流れるプライベート空間で、職人との会話を楽しみながら触れる、奥深く繊細な和菓子の世界。ご自身で作られた2つの上生菓子はお持ち帰りいただけますが、この日体験されたお二人は、その後に手毬寿司作りも体験されたため、食後のデザートとして、お好みの上生菓子1点をお抹茶とともにお召し上がりいただきました🍵

Once again this year, at the end of November, we had a gardener come to prepare our garden trees with Yukizuri.
Yukizuri is a traditional practice unique to the Hokuriku region, where poles and ropes are used to protect trees from breaking under the weight of heavy, wet snow.
This year we asked a different gardener than last year, and it really made us realize how much individuality there is in Yukizuri. Our stone lanterns were completely wrapped in straw, looking almost like adorable little mascots. Even though it’s the same garden, it feels entirely different from last year, and we’ve been enjoying the scenery every day.
Now, how much snow will we get this winter…? ❄️

今年も、11月の終わりに、庭師さんにお庭の木々の「雪吊り」作業をして頂きました。

北陸地方特有の湿った重たい雪で木々が折れないように柱と縄で覆うことを「雪吊り」と言います。

今年は去年と違う庭師さんにお願いしたのですが、雪吊りって、庭師さんによってとても個性が出るのですね！今年はお庭の石灯籠が藁ですっぽりと囲われ、まるで可愛いマスコットのように。同じお庭でも去年とは全く趣が楽しめ、私たちも日々その風景を楽しんでいます。

さて、この冬はどのくらい雪が積もるのでしょうか…。

Today, we headed to Omicho Market once again to pick up fresh sashimi for our Temari Sushi experience. We always rely on Tadamura Suisan, known for their premium-quality seafood.
When we arrived, they were just preparing the salmon sashimi we had ordered. The beautifully glossy salmon—and the craftsmanship of the chef who slices it with such care—never fails to impress us.
The sashimi served at in Kanazawa house, always loved by our guests, is made possible thanks to the wonderful people who support us behind the scenes. Thank you, as always, for preparing everything with such dedication 🐟✨

今日も、手毬寿司体験でお客様にお出しするお刺身を受け取りに、近江町市場へ。 いつもお世話になっているのは、高級鮮魚が並ぶ忠村水産さん。
伺うと、ちょうど私たちがお願いしていたサーモンのお刺身を仕上げてくださっているところでした。 ツヤツヤと美しいサーモン、そしてそれを丁寧かつ美しく捌いてくださる職人さんの手仕事に、思わず見惚れてしまいます。
お客様からご好評いただいている in Kanazawa house のお刺身は、こうして日々支えてくださる方々のおかげで成り立っています。 いつも心を込めてご用意くださり、本当にありがとうございます🐟✨

We recently held a special “Bento-Making Experience🍱” as part of our home-cooking program—an original activity created together with a travel agency, now in its second run.

This time we welcomed 14 guests from Belgium and made classic Japanese bento dishes such as karaage, tamagoyaki, kinpira lotus root, and potato salad. After cooking together in a large kitchen, everyone packed their own lunches into magewappa bento boxes. ✨

Although it was late November, we were blessed with perfect picnic weather! With their bentos in hand, everyone headed to a nearby park to enjoy lunch under the warm sunshine.

Afterwards, thanks to a thoughtful idea from one of our staff who practices tea ceremony, guests enjoyed nodate matcha outdoors. Many had already experienced tea ceremony in Kyoto, so they were familiar with the etiquette and happily savored their tea. 🍵

They all seemed to enjoy the experience so much, which made us truly happy as well. 😊

先日、家庭料理体験のスペシャルバージョンとして、お弁当作り体験が行われました。
この体験は旅行会社さんの希望により一から一緒に作り上げたオリジナルのアクティビティで、今回で開催は２回目。この日はベルギーから14名のお客様をお迎えし、みんなでお弁当作りを行いました🍱

日本人にとって定番のお弁当のおかずである、鶏の唐揚げや卵焼き、蓮根のきんぴらにポテトサラダなど。大きなキッチンでゲストの皆さんと調理をしあげ、最後は曲げわっぱのお弁当箱に、一人ひとつずつ、自分の分を詰めてもらいました✨

11月下旬というのに、この日はラッキーなことにぽかぽかのピクニック日和！
各自お弁当を手にし、すぐ近くの公園に移動。暖かな陽気の中お弁当を食べることができました。そしてこの日は特別に、茶道を嗜んでいるスタッフの粋な提案で、食事後にゲストに野点でお抹茶を楽しんで頂くことに🍵　皆さん京都で茶道体験をされたとのことで、お作法もご存じ👏 美味しく召し上がって下さいました。

お弁当作りに、青空の下でのピクニック。皆さんとても楽しそうに参加してくださり満足頂けたようで、私たちもとても嬉しかったです😊楽しい時間をどうもありがとうございました！

✨ New Activity: “Glass Art Making & Atelier Visit” with Glass Artist Miku Kono.✨

Since April, glass artist Miku Kono has been creating her work in a small atelier on the second floor of our renovated machiya. We’re excited to announce the launch of her new hands-on experience.
Your visit begins in the kura gallery, filled with the warm scent of wood and plaster. Miku introduces her pieces, sharing the thoughts and craftsmanship behind each work.
Next, head upstairs to the glass studio. Watch hot work, kiln work, and cold work up close as glass takes shape and comes to life— a quiet, immersive journey into the material’s transformation.
To finish, enjoy creating your own glass art. Choose your glass, sketch your design, and carve it with a sandblasting machine. The moment your pattern softly appears on the surface is truly magical. Your finished piece—a small or large glass rest—will be one of a kind.
Craft your own “sculpture of light” in a peaceful, renovated machiya in Kanazawa. Join Miku and step into a world of light, color, and creativity.

4月から町家2階の一角をアトリエとして使い、制作を続けているガラス作家・鑛納未來（こうの　みく）さん。この度、彼女による新しい体験プログラムが始まりました。まずは、木と漆喰の香りがふわりと漂う蔵のギャラリーへ。そこで、作家本人が作品に宿る想いや制作のこだわりを、一つひとつ丁寧にご紹介します。続いて2階の工房へ移動。ホットワーク、キルンワーク、コールドワーク―― ガラスが生まれ、形を変え、輝きをまとっていく過程を間近で見学します。まるでガラスが語りかけてくるような、奥深いひとときをお楽しみください。ラストは、ガラスアート制作体験。選んだガラスに好きなデザインを描き、サンドブラストで少しずつ削っていくと… 自分の模様がふわりと浮かび上がる感動の瞬間が訪れます。完成した作品は世界にひとつだけ。大小を選べるカトラリー置きとしてお持ち帰りいただけます。日常にそっと溶け込む“光の造形”を、あなたの手で。金沢の町家をリノベーションした静かな工房で、作家とともに光と色の世界を旅してみませんか？
