Together with our guide, you will learn how to spot the freshest ingredients and discover where our renowned local chefs and restaurateurs do their shopping.

After our visit to Omicho Market, we’ll head to our cooking studio for a hands-on temari sushi workshop. Using the fresh seafood and seasonal produce we’ve just discovered, you’ll quickly learn how to craft beautifully presented and delicious temari sushi — sure to impress both friends and family.
More than 15 kinds of toppings available. Choose from ingredients you know and love or, if you are the adventurous type, craft sushi with locally-loved traditional ingredients!  (Choose from fish, meat, vegetables, and more!).  Learn about the history of sushi and discover what makes "temari" sushi unique. Our instructor will teach you tips and tricks for making temari-sushi, so that you, once you have returned home, can culinairy impart your memories of Japan with your friends and family. Our instructor will teach you tips and tricks for making temari-sushi, so that you can keep your memories of Japan a part of you, even after you have returned home. The experience takes place in a traditional Kanazawa-style townhouse (machiya), one of the larger and more spacious wooden buildings of its kind. This townhouse, a former dyeing workshop, features a traditional design and was built with traditional building techniques. Our goal was not only to preserve the building's rich history and its original features but also to create a welcoming and engaging venue where guests can fully immerse themselves in the culture of Kanazawa.
