Visit a Working Glass Artist’s Atelier in Kanazawa
This is more than a typical craft workshop. Your experience begins with a visit to the working atelier of contemporary glass artist Miku Kohno. The studio is located in a beautifully renovated traditional building that was once used as a dyeing workshop. Here, you can see the environment in which a professional artist develops her ideas and creates her work. Miku will introduce you to the characteristics of glass as an artistic material and explain how techniques such as hot work, kiln work, and cold work can transform glass through color, texture, transparency, and light.
Meeting the artist in her own creative space offers a more personal way to discover Kanazawa’s evolving craft culture.
