Established during the Edo period, the store has long supplied washi paper to the Maeda family and served as a chirigami exchange for the magistrate's office.

Today, KamiBunbou Araki offers a wide selection of high-quality Japanese papers, including vibrant yuzen paper, folk craft paper, dyed and blurred washi, textured papers, and origami paper. Throughout the store, you'll find exquisite craft works created by the Araki siblings, Takashi and Asaka, showcasing the beauty and versatility of paper and mizuhiki.

Takashi Araki, the 6th generation "Oriori Origami Man," is renowned for his intricate origami creations and shares his expertise through a popular YouTube channel. He also offers origami kits at the store, allowing visitors to take home a piece of the experience. His sister, Asaka, is celebrated for her charming mizuhiki and paper quilling art, which have garnered widespread popularity.
